The Birth of a Vision

The story of Freedom began with writer Anita Waggoner's passion for the western lifestyle and a desire to bring authentic, heartfelt storytelling back to the big screen. As a writer deeply rooted in the western way of life, I drew upon childhood experiences of growing up around rodeo and ranching, and later owning a remote Oklahoma ranch for thirteen years, raising rodeo bulls, and embracing the independence that comes with such a lifestyle. This film was never just about cowboys and cattle—it is about grit, determination, and, most importantly, freedom in its truest sense.

The Road to Development

Turning a script into a film is a monumental task, but Freedom quickly gained traction with a team dedicated to bringing its story to life.

A major milestone was securing the talents of Tane McClure as director and producer. Tane, the daughter of western legend Doug McClure, has an innate understanding of the genre and a deep respect for authentic storytelling. Her expertise in filmmaking and her Hollywood connections have been invaluable in pushing Freedom toward production.

The film has also drawn support from several western influencers, rodeo stars, and professionals from the world of bull riding. Their involvement adds credibility to the project, ensuring that Freedom captures the essence of today’s cowboy culture while staying true to its historical roots.

Overcoming Challenges

Like any independent film, Freedom has faced its share of obstacles. From funding hurdles to logistical challenges, bringing a western to the screen requires unwavering commitment. But the determination of our team, combined with the passion of those who believe in the film’s message, has kept Freedom moving forward.

One of the unique aspects of our journey is the direct connection with the western community. Whether through rodeo events, ranchers, or those who live by the cowboy code, we have built a network of supporters who see Freedom as more than just a film—it’s a representation of their lifestyle, struggles, and triumphs.

The Future of Freedom

Now in development, Freedom is gaining momentum with each passing day. We continue to explore partnerships, sponsorships, and avenues to bring this film to audiences worldwide. As part of our funding efforts, we are offering a copy of my poetry book, Echoes of Freedom, to those who contribute to the film’s journey—a fitting tribute to the spirit of perseverance that runs through both the book and the movie.

Why Freedom Matters

In a time when people are searching for authenticity and stories that resonate on a deeper level, Freedom stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of the American West. This isn’t just a movie; it’s a movement. It’s a revival of the values of hard work, resilience, and, above all, freedom—the very ideals that built this country.

As we push forward on this journey, we invite you to be a part of it. Whether through support, engagement, or simply spreading the word, Freedom belongs to everyone who believes in the power of storytelling and the western way of life. Stay tuned as we ride this trail toward bringing Freedom to the big screen!
